Custom Pouches FAQs

How many colors can I include in my artwork?

We use digital CMYK printing with no plate requirements, allowing you to incorporate unlimited colors in your artwork at no extra cost.

What material should I choose?

Our most popular material is white film, which delivers vibrant, high-quality colors in printed designs. If your packaging requires a product window, clear film is the best choice, also allowing for translucent color effects in artwork. For a shiny silver interior or metallic color effects, opt for metallized film, which enhances prints with a reflective, eye-catching finish.

What’s the difference between white and clear film?

All of these films share the same base material properties, with the only difference being the opacity tint added to white film. If your design includes a window or large unprinted area, clear film is the best option. For all other applications, we recommend using white film for optimal color vibrancy.

How do I seal these pouches?

For optimal security, your pouches should be heat-sealed at 250–350°F. A zipper closure alone is not sufficient to fully seal and protect your product.

Can I get a window in my pouch?

Yes! Clear Film is Required for Windows. To create transparent windows, we use our clear film material. First, we print a layer of opaque white ink, followed by your artwork on top. Any areas without white ink will remain clear. Your print file must include this white ink layer along with your regular artwork for accurate printing.

Can I choose where the tear notches, zipper, and/or hang hole are placed?

Our pouches come with pre-set feature placements, as detailed in our dieline templates:

  • Tear Notches – Positioned ⅞” below the top edge on all sizes except S1, L13, and L14, which have tear notches at ⅝” instead.
  • Zippers – Placed 1 ½” below the top edge on all sizes except S1, L13, and L14, where they are positioned at 1 ¼” instead.
  • Hang Holes – The top edge of the hang hole is ¼” below the top of the pouch for all sizes.
  • Euro Hang Holes (25mm W x 10mm H) – Not available on S1, L13, or L14 pouches. These smaller sizes can only accommodate round hang holes (5/16” diameter).
  • Manufacturing Tolerance – Due to the nature of our process, feature placement may vary by up to 1/16” in any direction, as reflected in our dielines.

For precise positioning, please refer to our dieline templates before finalizing your design.

Will the zipper on the pouches be open or closed when I receive them?

The zippers will arrive closed, so you’ll need to open them before loading the product and sealing the package.

Which style of pouch is right for my product?

Stand-up pouches feature a bottom gusset that enables them to stand upright on retail shelves, making them ideal for bulkier products or items with multiple servings. In contrast, flat pouches lack a bottom gusset and are usually displayed on a tray or hung on a peg hook, making them a perfect choice for smaller or more compact products.

Can I order pouches without a tear notch?

All our pouches come with tear notches automatically, but you have the option to remove them. If you prefer no tear notches, simply select this option when placing your order.

Are your film materials food-safe?

All our film materials are FDA-approved and safe for direct food contact.

My product needs a long shelf life-which material should i choose?
  • All our pouch films are made from high-barrier materials designed to help extend your product’s shelf life. However, shelf life is influenced by multiple factors beyond packaging materials.

For an accurate shelf life determination, we recommend having your product and packaging tested by a certified laboratory, as we do not provide this type of testing.

How do I load/fill my pouches?

Your pouches will arrive unsealed at the top, ready for filling. For smaller stand-up pouches, we recommend using a blunt tool to gently push the sides apart and flatten the gusset before filling for easier handling.

Can I get a digital proof of my pouch?
  • After placing your order, you’ll receive a proof email for review. Carefully check all details, then choose to either “ACCEPT” or “REJECT” the proof.

If no action is taken within 12 hours, your order will automatically proceed to production.

Are your pouches made in the USA?

Our entire manufacturing process takes place within the United States.
